Introducing a new treatment for itchy dogs

Zenrelia is a NEW JAK inhibitor containing ilunocitinib for dogs with allergic and atopic dermatitis. Over half a million dogs have been treated with Zenrelia in the past 12 months in Brazil, USA, Japan, and Canada2 – a testament to Zenrelia’s efficacy and safety.

What do dog owners want?

Did you know that 79% of owners expect their dog to be back to normal when vets treat their itch? 3 The reality is a little different, with 53% of dogs treated with Apoquel getting back to normal. 1†††

Back to normal

Zenrelia gets nearly 50% more itchy dogs back to normal than Apoquel. 1

77% of dogs treated with Zenrelia achieved a PVAS score below 2 by day 112 compared to 53% of dogs treated with Apoquel.1 PVAS, or Pruritus Visual Analog Scale, is a 0–10 scale designed to measure the severity of itching in dogs. A score below 2 is considered a ‘normal’ itch score, comparable to that of a healthy, non-allergic dog. 1

Zenrelia works fast; owners can see visible itch relief after just one dose.1 Over the first 14 days of treatment, once-daily dosing with Zenrelia achieves comparable reductions in itch scores to twice-daily dosing with Apoquel. 1**

Success story: meet Karen

Karen is a spayed Toy Poodle. She presented with severe pruritus and clear ocular discharge. She had significant saliva staining on her paws, forelimbs and mouth. The owner noted that Karen was not only extremely itchy, but that she had been more irritable than usual, affecting her quality of life.

Her owner’s goal was to provide treatment that would control Karen’s pruritus and improve her quality of life.

The treatment plan

  • Start once-daily dosing with Zenrelia to control pruritus.
The results
  • Within her first month of treatment, there was a notable decrease in the degree of pruritus.
  • Karen’s itch levels returned to those observed in a normal dog.
  • She was less irritable, both at home and at the recheck examination.

“Karen is no longer itching and is in a much better mood!”

Chessie Green, Karen’s veterinary surgeon.

Success story: meet Maze

Maze is a neutered Staffordshire Bull Terrier. His owner reported that he had suffered from year-round pruritus and that previous therapies including Apoquel, steroids and antihistamines had sadly been unsuccessful at controlling his symptoms. On presentation he had severe pruritus, epidermal collarettes, alopecia and erythema.

His owner’s goal was to give a treatment that would manage Maze’s symptoms by providing year-round relief.

The treatment plan

  • Start once-daily Zenrelia to control pruritus.
  • Use appropriate antibiotics, and medicated shampoos and creams.
The results
  • 11 days after beginning treatment, Maze’s pruritus had significantly decreased.
  • The vet reported complete resolution of lesions on his abdomen and axillae; the lichenification was much improved.

SubBanar

“Incredible resolution of pruritus based on the PVAS score alone.”

Brooke West, Maze’s veterinary surgeon.
