The UK’s leading non-clinical veterinary conference returns to the live format at ICC Wales from 21 to 22 January with tickets for the event on sale now.

SPVS and VMG reveal programme for  congress 2022

Firefighter, psychologist and writer Sabrina Cohen-Hatton will be the congress’ opening speaker.

SPVS and the VMG have announced the lecture programme for their Leadership and Management Congress 2022.

Congress will return to the face-to-face format at ICC Wales, Newport from 21 to 22 January 2022 and registration for the event is open now.

UK leading

SPVS-VMG Congress is the UK’s leading non-clinical veterinary conference offering CPD content from speakers within the veterinary profession and beyond.

This year will see some new speakers along with the return of some of the most popular presenters from recent years.

Speaker highlights

Speaker highlights include:

  • Congress opener – firefighter, psychologist and writer Sabrina Cohen-Hatton.
  • Carolyne Crowe from VDS Training on leading when you don’t have all the answers.
  • Brian Faulkner from Colourful CPD and the British Veterinary Receptionist Association on sharing legal must knows as a new manager.
  • Lucy Grieve, BEVA senior vice-president, discussing equine flexible working and out-of-hours.
  • Andrew Kitton on work-life balance plus driving performance through feedback.
  • Dave Nicol from VetX International on time management.
  • “Lou The Vet Nurse” Northway highlighting nurses as quality improvement ambassadors.
  • Laura Playforth from RCVS Knowledge on how to conquer your caseload peak.
  • Iain Price from VDS Training on addressing imposterism for both you and your team.
  • Mark Tabachnik exploring how our brain relates to our ability to be great leaders.
  • Dan Tipney from VetLed on examining practice culture change.

Interactive workshops

SPVS and the VMG will be presenting their own curated streams, along with streams dedicated to those that are new to management and considering setting up practice, while Saturday afternoon will see a range of interactive workshops, pre-bookable in advance.

The accompanying exhibition hosts a wide selection of companies focused on the business, management, marketing and client-facing aspects of veterinary practice.

Social events

Congress will start on Thursday night with a networking evening and this year’s presidents’ party on Friday evening will see the return of high energy festival and party band RPJ, headed by Rick Parfitt Jnr.

SPVS and the VMG will be working with ICC Wales to ensure that all necessary COVID safety protocols are in place.
