London Vet Show opens after 2020 break

London Vet Show, pictured here in 2017, is back once more at ExCeL London.

The first London Vet Show in two years opened its doors today – the largest gathering of veterinary professionals since before the pandemic (11 November).

The 2020 show did not take place due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the event it is back for the usual two days at ExCeL London for 2021.

Organisers were determined to run the event, and have introduced safety precautions, including all attendees demonstrating proof of their COVID-19 status for entry into the ExCeL.

Speakers

More than 200 speakers from around the world are lecturing at the London Vet Show, with the BVA staging its congress alongside the RVC, BEVA and commercial streams across companion animal, farm, equine, business, and career topics.

Exhibitors are out in force, including Vet Times, which has a winter wonderland theme and usual giveaways, plus information about Vet Times Jobs and its Peoplematch service.

Speaking ahead of the vet show in an interview in Congress Times, Rob Chapman, managing director of organiser CloserStill Media’s veterinary division, said: “I cannot wait until we open the doors on the London Vet Show. When the exhibitors are building up their stands, it starts to build at lot of the atmosphere – but the morning the doors open and the delegates come in is just something else.”

The show is open until 6:45pm today, with a happy hour from 5:30pm, and is open 8am to 5pm tomorrow.
