BSAVA Virtual Congress 2021 got underway at 8am today, kicking off three full days of live CPD, interactive sessions, evening social events and a virtual exhibition.
More than 100 speakers; 80 live sessions; and a format blending clinical, practical and interactive content has been planned. Zoologist keynote speaker Lucy Cooke got things going at 8:45am, with entrepreneur Jenny Campbell, Dr Ranj and business guru Derek Mills also lined up.
Among other highlights announced ahead of the congress, Penny Watson will be sharing new ideas about feline liver disease and a brachycephalic stream will explore respiratory assessment, brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome surgery, anaesthesia and the importance of a team approach.
Complementing a live programme within 24 modules, an on-demand stream will offer a library of more than 100 lectures, including Holger Volk on epilepsy management, and Jaime Viscasillas Monteagudo on new local anaesthetic techniques for celiotomy.
Sue Paterson, who chairs the RCVS education committee, and Linda Prescott-Clements, RCVS director of education, will be presenting a session on the new VetGDP.
