Vets Now brings in world-renowned consultant anaesthetist in human medicine Kevin Fong as keynote speaker for first staging at Royal Armouries in Leeds.
The UK’s only dedicated emergency and critical care (ECC) congress for the veterinary profession has unveiled the lineup for its new venue.
Congress organiser Vets Now has announced world-renowned consultant anaesthetist in human medicine Kevin Fong as the keynote speaker for ECC Congress 2019, taking place at the Royal Armouries, Leeds, from 7 to 8 November.
Prof Fong will deliver a welcome plenary session – a first at congress – on risk management: life, death and mistakes, to delegates.
Having written the acclaimed book Extreme Medicine, he speaks to medical professionals across the world and, while a medically trained doctor, author and television presenter, also studied astrophysics and space medicine, so his specialism lies in ”working in extreme environments”.
Joining the lineup is leading emergency vet Ken Drobatz, professor of critical care at the University of Pennsylvania. Highly respected RVN Louise O’Dwyer will also speak.
The event, established by Vets Now in 2004, has grown into one of the biggest of its kind in Europe – offering delegates more than 70 hours of CPD, delivered across a stimulating and diverse range of lectures, discussion forums, debate and interactive workshops.
