Full programme now available for 60th staging of Europe’s largest equine vet event, with Tim Greet and Jean-Marie Denoix giving plenary lectures.
Jean-Marie Denoix will be giving one of the plenary lectures at BEVA Congress.
Organisers of BEVA Congress have scheduled a diamond-rated programme of speakers as the event marks its diamond anniversary – and a return to face-to-face learning – in September.
A full programme is available online involving a full line-up of speakers from the UK and around the world.
The event, which also incorporates the 13th International Equine Colic Symposium and a virtual congress hub, will feature a plenary lecture by Tim Greet, consultant at Rossdales Veterinary Surgeons, and a second by Jean-Marie Denoix, professor of veterinary anatomy at CIRALE in Normandy.
Clinical highlights in the programme include an afternoon on “controversies amongst us” and “how strong is the evidence that gastric ulceration causes performance/behavioural problems?”, with medicine hot topics covering west Nile virus, anaesthesia, complications after sedation, parasite control and the environmental effects of anthelmintics.
A morning session on a team approach to dental health will also feature, while practical sessions on sharing knowledge to advise clients about continuing to ride a horse with a heart murmur and dealing with owner perceptions of obesity will also feature.
Non-clinical sessions include the moral maze, which will debate challenges in achieving the perfect work-life balance, environmentally friendly initiatives and safeguarding yourself against client complaints. A dedicated stream for VNs on the final day will include a session on whether district nurse-type positions are possible in equine nursing.
BEVA Congress takes place from 5 to 7 September at the ICC, Birmingham, and early bird tickets are available now until 16 August.
Tickets provide access to all three lecture halls and exhibition halls, and access to the virtual congress hub. They also include a complimentary ticket to the 13th International Equine Colic Symposium. Virtual tickets receive full access to the virtual congress hub only.
Early bird BEVA member prices are £499 for vets and £187 for VNs for all three days (with concessions available for those in their first three years of graduation or on a lower salary). Virtual tickets are £99 for BEVA members.
BEVA has a “peace of mind” bookings policy in case anyone’s circumstances change.
