Ceva awards winners revealed

Ceva Animal Welfare Awards 2019 finalists.

The achievements of “remarkable” people from the veterinary, farming and charity industries have been honoured at the Ceva Animal Welfare Awards 2019.

A record-breaking number of nominations were received for the awards, which is now in its third consecutive year.

Better lives

This year, the event took place at The Birmingham Conference and Events Centre on 3 April, with TV host Matt Baker and retired vet Chris Laurence on hosting duties.

The accolades recognise the achievements of those who go beyond the call of duty to better the lives of animals around the world.

‘Outstanding finalists’

Speaking at the ceremony, chairman of the judging panel Mr Laurence said: “Once again, the breadth of nominations for the welfare awards has amazed and enthused the judging panel.

“There have been some outstanding finalists and those who have won should be justifiably proud to have done so against some stiff competition.”

Tireless work

Mr Baker added: “It is the second consecutive year I have presented the Ceva Animal Welfare Awards and, once again, I am touched and humbled by the individuals and organisations who work tirelessly to enhance and promote animal welfare – both in the UK and abroad – to make a real difference to the lives of animals.”
