Blue Cross announces PetsApp collaboration

Richard Casey.

One of the UK’s leading veterinary client communications tools has announced what it has described as an “industry first partnership” with Blue Cross.

PetsApp has today (1 December) confirmed it provide its services to the charity, which offers veterinary treatment to sick and injured pets when their owners can’t afford private veterinary fees.

Four hospitals

The collaboration covers Blue Cross’ four animal hospitals, which help more than 24,000 pets each year.

This means all pet owners will be able to engage with Blue Cross using features such as asynchronous text chat, remote consultations and online appointment booking facilities.

Ultimate goal

Richard Casey, head of clinical development at Blue Cross, said: “Patient, client and team experience is at the heart of all our decision-making.

“It is our ultimate goal to make veterinary care more accessible for all our clients, and easier for our teams to do so. PetsApp has enabled us to do that – whether it be through the asynchronous live text chat, avoiding a long call wait time, or prompt remote payments.

“PetsApp has really revolutionised our ways of working in a short space of time. Our team and clients love it.”

Passionate people

PetsApp co-founder and chief executive Thom Jenkins added: “We very much admire and share the Blue Cross mission of closing gaps in care. Giving clinics the ability to meet growing demand without requiring more of their teams is what PetsApp is all about.

“Passionate people equipped with the right tools can sustainably achieve so much more for pets. That’s a big part of what makes this partnership so exciting.”
